Chapel on May 23

I joyfully invite you all to join us for chapel on Wednesday, May 23 at 8:40!  This will be a special chapel for two reasons:

  1. This is designated our Volunteer Recognition Chapel.  We like to honor those who have given their time to the school this year.  Teachers and students have prepared thank you cards for every person who has volunteered in classrooms and during special events.
  2. Fourth grade will be in the spotlight for a special performance during worship.  We have learned the American Sign Language to the song "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe and will be presenting this song visually during the service.  This class has been a particularly quick group to pick up on ASL (they also know the Lord's Prayer and Apostles Creed!), and this is a culminating activity for us.  We'd love for you to see it!

SBAC Schedule

After spring break, our class will start taking the SBAC tests in Math and English/Language Arts.  Please schedule appointments keeping the following dates in mind so that we can try (as much as we control) to have students present.

  • 8:45 on Tuesday, April 10
  • 12:00 on Thursday, April 12
  • 8:45 on Monday, April 16
  • 12:00 on Thursday, April 19

These tests can be pretty intensive, so these would be great days to ensure they are especially well-rested and well-fed when they come to school!  Contact Miss Rippstein if you have any questions.  Thank you!

Shiloh Movie

The 4th graders have earned a movie due to their good behavior over lunch over the past number of weeks!  We are going to watch Shiloh, having read the novel earlier this year.  We will watch it on Thursday, March 22.  The movie is rated PG, and I'm including a link to the Common Sense Media parent review.  If you would like your child to be excused from watching the movie, please let me know so I can arrange an alternative for him/her.
