S3 Online Auction

This Saturday, March 23, is the annual Sip, Savor, and Support (S3) event that raises money for the Bethlehem Lutheran Scholarship Endowment Fund.  This fund provides tuition assistance for families to attend Bethlehem Lutheran School, and since 1991, BLSEF has awarded over half a million dollars in tuition assistance!

For the past 10 years, a unique part of the BLSEF fundraising has included class projects made by our very own BLS students. This year the Sip, Savor, and Support Planning Committee is excited to announce that bidding on these class projects starts right now…ANYONE can bid, EVEN if you are are NOT attending the event!

Here's what you need to know to get that special project made by our incredible students:
  • Online bidding will be open from Monday, March 18, (meaning right NOW), until Friday, March 22 at 12pm.
  • At the conclusion of online bidding on Friday, the highest bid for each project will become the starting bid at the S3 event on Saturday, March 23.  The highest bid at the close of the auction (time?) Saturday night will win the item. OR Bidding will pause at 12pm Friday and resume Saturday at 6pm AT the S3 event.
  • To continue bidding, come to the Sip, Savor, and Support event this coming Saturday at 6:00 pm at Zintel Creek Golf Club - tickets available in the school office or here:
  • If you cannot attend the event, send a proxy bidder! Contact a friend who is attending the event and ask them to bid on your behalf - just be sure to work out the details as payment is due the night of the auction.
  • When bidding closes at the auction, the highest bid for each class project becomes the winner!
  • If you are the highest bidder, you will be notified via email after the auction has concluded and will be able to pick up your item at the school office on Monday, March 25th.

We can’t wait for you to see the beautiful items your children have created!  Here’s the link to view the items and to create an online profile to start BIDDING:

ONE MORE THING!  As a bonus, we have added a handful of items online as “Buy It Now” Items on page 2 and 3 of the auction catalog.  If you choose to “Buy” any of these items, they are automatically bidding needed! There are items such as a ticket to the BLS STEM Camp (10 available), a ticket to a Ladies Night Out at THREADS (20 available), Brashers Photography Package (20 available), tickets to the Seattle Children’s Museum, and gift cards to local restaurants!

An Invitation from BLC

You're invited to a special Ash Wednesday service!  This year, you'll have the opportunity to do a make-and-take Lenten devotional for your family!  Lent is a time to reflect and prepare our hearts for Easter.  We'd like to help your family do that throughout the 40 days of Lent.  We'd love for you to join us this Wednesday, March 6.  There's a soup supper at 5:30, and the hands-on make-and-take devotional will begin at 6:15, with Ash Wednesday service to follow.  If you're planning on joining us, we'd appreciate it if you'd fill out the form at the link below.  It's simple--it just asks for the family name and how many people are planning on attending the soup supper.  This will help us make sure we have enough food and materials for everyone who'd like to attend.  If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact Pastor Andy, Mrs. Picker, or Miss Closner!  We hope to see you then!

Grand-Friends Day

Grand-Friends Day is coming next week!  On Friday, March 1, all grandparents and grand-friends are invited to join us for a day of fun, starting with chapel in the gym, then moving to activities in classrooms, and ending with a performance by our L.E.S.T drama team!  All students need to be accompanied by an adult, so please get in touch if your child still needs a grand-friend.  We will dismiss at 11:15.

4th Grade Chapel

You are all enthusiastically invited to view the 4th graders deliver the chapel message on Wednesday, January 23 starting at 8:40!  I wanted to let you know a couple weeks in advance so you can add it to your calendars.  We've been practicing our script this week, and it's shaping up to be a fun rendition of The Parable of the King's Banquet from Luke 14 in honor of the month's theme "God is present for everyone."  We'd love to see you there!
